FILM FABRIK PRAHA: DAY SEVEN

All hands on set!

Andrea’s set for The End bustles with pre-shooting energy. Petra prepares props. angela arranges wardrobe. Nicholas reviews his role of “Middle-aged Man.” Starki reviews his role as Nicholas’ PA. Marion does make-up. Sam prepares sound. Rafael perfects lighting as Diddi and Armande consult on camera set-up. Nick video-documents the preparation. Daryl and DeDe make apple crisp. By noon, the first shot is underway.

Lunch of sandwiches and spicy potato wedges. PH performs his dance for the day, a pigeon ballet as Diddi’s dining entertainment. Erpur and Starki brainstorm a Film Fabrik manifesto, following in the footsteps of Dogma. Two rules: 1. You are only allowed one take per shot and must use that take, mistakes and all (really emphasizes ‘take’ in mistake, yes?) and 2. Every collective member has equal input in all production decisions. After lunch, filming continues as Prague swelters in the summer heat.

Around 16:30, on-set energy and efficiency skyrocket.

Scene 1, Shot 2: 2 takes.

Dinner is pasta with salad and bread, followed by apple crisp. The primary technical crew work through part of dinner to remove one wall of the set and construct the travelling equipment for the next series of shots.

The photo blog shimmers with new photos from Benoît, PH, and Nick.
